Lincoln should have launched an attack on Russia once he bought Alaska. You wouldn't have had to fight in that one, either.

Nadine you are making up history again...please document your statements.

re."That choice saved many American and English lives and cost Polish, Hungarian and other lives by the million."

do you think that after battles like stalingrad the soviets would be defeated by a couple of nuke bombs .....they would still have the red army poised to steamroll.

the milions dead would most likely have been eastern europeans haveing had their already worn torn countries become a nuke battle fields........

and then there is the feeding and rebuilding of europe that might never have happened.

s .

Nadine...what of israel if the allies had attacked?

One can only imagine that there would be no jewish refugees since the turmoil of mopping up the red army and feeding the liberated masses of both east and west europe would preclude the waste of transport.

It might even be the case that in the added turmoil the Holocaust is thought to be best left unmentioned.

You gotta give this up nadine. It makes you look foolish. Even if your numbers are right, there would have been at least 6 figure casualties for US troops. And the few nukes we had probably would have been dropped on moscow. There was no way to save East Europe. In order to be credible, you must understand limitations of power. Perhaps we could have saved some areas on the edges of soviet power but not much more.
