Don't know why that would be your last word, but I respect that. Reflecting on your reply, It is obvious that some Americans are taught either by example or told to place their hands on their heart when they hear the National Anthem and some are not. Barack was not, and that is acceptable to some Americans and unacceptable to others. Don't really know if that would make him a better or worse president. Don't think it would make much difference in the greater scheme of things. Not sure how Americans in uniform would react? They're a pretty diverse group..........a few probably wouldn't give a rip. I'm just wondering how far afield future presidents will be able to go to alter what has traditionally been expected of the POTUS? Obama is pushing the envelope.
