Doerr understands the complexity of what's ahead. Most venture capitalists are judged on return on investment alone. Asked how he'll judge the success of the green initiative, he reels off five measures: "the company we keep, the quality of the companies we help grow, the quality of the partners we add, returns on the investments we make, and by the CO2 that's taken out of the atmosphere." If that is what Gore is doing, it's OK by me. I don't get your gripe. Unless of course its just that you think the IPCC is full of nonsense, and therefore Kleiner Perkins and Gore are just hucksters selling hot air. Unlike the Bush-Cheney gang, who have spent $1.6T (yes, a "T" not a "B") so far on Iraq and Afghanistan. Now there's money well spent.
