Agree with some of your points, don't agree that we can fault the government for being disfunctional-----think they have been functional but in the wrong direction.

The way in which I fault them is their incursion into our health care----which leads to the socialized medicine.

Reg. patents and removing the ring so we can import medications-------personally I will not accept generic medications as the ingredients are not totally known.

The same would be true of medications coming from unfrienly foreign countries. As long as there is terrorism, there is the potential for the use of medications to be a part of that terrorism.

Prevention, yes, but do realize that there are some diseases that are genetic and cannot be prevented as hard as we may try.

Portable medical records fine. Whole body scans also----paid for my own about 7 years ago-----I know the problems and lack of problems. This would save a lot of invasive procedures that prove to be fishing expeditions and nothing more.

Malpractice lawsuits should be used to assure that these doctors do not practice. Doctors are human and make mistakes; however, there is a limit to how many malpractice lawsuits should have against him or her. Increasing insurance rates may help but cannot change a doctor who is inept.

In Virginia lawsuits and licensing are a matter of public record via the Medical Board of Virginia. This brings me to another point-------doctors should not be allowed to float from state to state after revocation of licenses by other states.

If a doctor has been refused a license in California, I would want the Virginia Medical Board to know that the license had been refused or revoked and the reasons. That's why one checks out a doctor before going to him or her.
