ElM, if you own a summer house somewhere, you don't have to live in it year round. <If Tarken's Canadian citizenship was worth that what you're saying, he wouldn't have gone to Japan or returned to NZ. He would have been there > Unfortunately for him, he can't sell his citizenship. It is held in trust for his use. When he no longer wants to, or is able to use it, his possession lapses and ownership reverts to the trust [aka the state]. His estate can't inherit the title "Citizen of Canada". Mqurice
