stocks like Cisco will stagnate, even though the company itself posts record-breaking quarters. Relative to other US stocks Cisco will benefit from a declining US dollar as a large percentage of revenues are denominated in foreign currencies (which are strengthening) while most expenses are denominated in US dollars (which are declining). In fact, I'd bet somewhere between 2%-5% of CSCO's revenue growth in 2007 was due to currency benefits from the declining dollar.

That was a political, Bush-bashing intended posting that made no mention of CSCO. This is not to say whether I am pro or anti-Bush, merely that my (and most?) other people come to this thread to discuss CSCO, a U.S. based, multinational corporation. I have stayed out of the back and forth you and Elroy have been having over CSCO since earnings were released. CSCO did miss by a penny, whether the earnings were record breaking or not. In this market meeting--better yet, surprising, exceeding--analysts earnings and revenue estimates is all important. CSCO did not do this and their conference call did not make analysts put on their rosy colored glasses. Lynn BTW, I am done with this discussion. It is your right to reply to the above, mindmeld, by I am not going to reply--no way do I want to get in a back and forth like you and Elroy seem to enjoy (otherwise, one of you would just stop posting).
