I saw one study which indicated that total taxes paid were somewhere around 20% for all income groups. I think the lowest was around 18% and the highest was about 22%. IIRC, they counted sales and excise taxes and income taxes. I don't recall if property taxes were factored in.

But, I can't find it again, so that very well could be wrong as to the details. The main point, however, is that we have essentially a flat tax now.

wow, that's a lot of taxes, do you ever tell your rep that there are to many taxes ??
