Just placed an order for a somewhat expensive capital item from germany. The item initially had a 10 week lead-time made to order. 2 phone calls and the item can be delivered in 2 weeks....

They are also kicking and screaming because there is no end in site to dollar decline and the folks in US who are purchasing from euro manufacturers, can't afford a 50% price hike in the geewhizbangs they are selling and would rather buy from pegged denominated countries.

So euro denominated sellers are starting to get ants in their pants both because the economy is slowing down, and because they are stuck holding a lot of very expensive inventory that their number one customer can no longer afford, and can't easily be repriced. Panic is best done first.

I don't think we're seeing enough volatility in the dollar yet to see any meaningful recovery any time soon. At the same time,,,, i fear we will continue to jump around in all directions but go nowhere till dec.
