But we are where we are and my belief is that we have done as much as we can militarily and now its time to declare our mission is completed and turn it over to iraqis, neighbors and even some european countries with creds there. This is not what the soldiers and the politicians are saying, mike, neither ours nor the Iraqis. Their government is holding (do you notice its increasingly being reported on AS a government?) but they need an outside mediator with credibility to broker a deal. That ain't the Euros, it's us. We are in a better position now that AQI has been defeated (a real win despite all the belittling by the lefties); now we have to face down Iran and its JAM proxies. Creds come from winning and dealing, not running away. And the deals are so much better when you're winning.
