I once had a problem with an order from Gateway (computer). They left out some power cord. It became a point of personal determination for my husband to get them to send the power cord. He must have talked to 3 or 4 different people. He was promised that the cord would be sent. It never was. Yadda yadda yadda.

This went on for at least two weeks.

I finally decided to take a shot at the problem myself.

I looked up the email address for investor relations.

I composed an email recounting my husband's fruitless efforts to secure the cord, including the empty promises and overall poor service.

I noted that their stock price would surely suffer once their consumers experienced their poor customer service.

I vowed never to buy another Gateway product.

You get the picture.

Within the day, I received a return email.

Within 2 days, the cord was in my hand.
