Mormon candidate at the national level was a significantly bigger turnoff than a candidate being black or female. I completely agree. Race and gender are much easier to deal with for most people than faith and religion. I'm not ready to vote for a Scientologist for president (ever) but for the most part I care little about what religious flavor a candidate has. I very much care about the general direction these candidates might take the country in.
