Do you remember Dark Shadows? That was my favourite show to watch when I could after school. When it went off the air, I didn't watch any soaps until my two youngest kids were infants. That didn't last very long. I gave up watching soaps for Lent and never went back. It wasn't hard to do and I felt badly that I didn't give up something that was a real sacrifice but I worked it out in my mind as doing good for my kids by not exposing them to that trash!
