You are so obviously clueless. Reconstruction has everything to do with race in the South. Lincoln's vision for the South, which was much like Johnson's, would not have resulted in more than a century of strife. What was Lincoln's vision for the South beyond ending slavery?

8 generations! Help me here...if a generation is considered 40 years, your family has been in Texas about 320 years? And no, I never heard of Juneteenth and at the moment have polled my mailing list to see if anyone else has... I've discovered it's even an official New York State holiday (ceremonial only, whatever that means). I live in NY. And I very much remember JFK's assassination and have visited the site 3 times. At that time it was still the Democratic Solid South. The Solid South flipped in the 64 election....why? So what was it about Reconstruction that so disturbed Confederates..?
