The number of erase cycles is very impressive. It is an Achelles heal of the current crop of SSDs. Increasing it by some 3 orders of magnitude has to count for something (in addition to increased write performance).

Yeah, I've been reading about the gyrations SanDisk and Samsung plan on to cope with the problems of strataflash. More erases means less complicated load leveling is needed and hence less logic to be executed with each erase.

It looks like yesterday was an aberration as the shorts are back in full force today. There's really not much reason for the buyers to oppose the shorters as their goals are similar, namely get shares at a lower price. Whoever the big buyer was yesterday it seems that they got sated. Though the volume looks good it's hard to say how much of the trading is real and how much is just shorts controlling the market.
