Muktada is a home grown Iraqi and has resisted domination from Iran. He is an Arab and somewhat racist against Persians gaining power in Iraq. He chased Grand Iyatollah Sistani out of Iraq when he was threatened by his power, even though he bows to him as a Shi'ite scholar. Iran actually supported the badr brigade when they tried to subdue Al-Sadr. Iran has given up on that idea over the past year.

I predicted a few years ago we would be dealing with him someday. His goals are far beyond serving Iran. He intends to conquer the world, so Iran could be serving him in a few years.

4/9/2005: "He was able to stand down the entire US and Iraqi combined military forces in an insurgency a few months back. He negotiated a settlement with the aid of an Iranian Mullah. AL Sadr is the only insurgent Allowed to simply walk away as a free man. He declared his radical forces still in tact and directed them to recruit for the Al-Mahdi Army. The Mahdi is a character in Shi'ite and Sunni lore that will be revealed at a certain point (AL Sadr says soon) to establish world rule by Islamic forces."

"When/if we have to deal with the Al-Mahdi army, it will make our struggle with Al-Quaida look like a kindergardener’s camp."

Personally, I think we should have taken him more serious.
