That may well turn out to be the correct observation. Gold is up in early Asian trade with markets there still falling...

I've put a "BUY" notation reminder to myself on GLD around 75.30 (ABC swing move target and 50 day ema)...The gap at 76 might be the number at which to start adding, however...

Be interesting which way the option expiration takes things, and that for gold futures..

Getting increasingly defensive as prices fall...Somewhere between now and Christmas, probably by the first week of December I'll have to reposition...for the anticipated new year action.

25% cash, 25% GLD, 8% PM miners, 18% base and uranium...

Or maybe they haven't panic'd soon enough and tomorrow we are down 4-5% on the indices -- then we get the ole after the market rate cut job ...

In the current environment, it wouldn't surprise me to find out one day a mid to large size bank has already "ENRON'd" ...

Golds look like they need another leg down to shake folks out, to me.
