One good thing about it - it probably kept irritating Northerners away for awhile. :) Easy Rider had an effect on how Northerners perceived Southerners too. I went south not long after that movie came out and everybody told me I was crazy going down there with long hair. When I got there I found there were more longhairs in the south than in the north! I made fast friends and never encountered a problem. People shouldn't buy into the simple BS that comes out of Hollywood.
