Art,
It is reassuring to hear from you that the MEMS technology has made reasonable progress since we saw the fairly rudimentary displays at the ASM in March. Did you get a sense from the Q reps that the current plan for MEMS screens is to be used on the "outer screen" on phones...without much emphasis on their use in the main "inside screen"? I realize from Paul's comments that MEMS ability to scale into large screens (including TV-sized screens eventually) is a long way down the road. However, I'm interested in your take on whether our expectations with respect to MEMS moving into the inside screen in the next 3-5 years need to be pulled back. The emphasis has clearly focused on the always-on and battery saving aspects! Thanks for your insight. Brihack

Art-- The MEMS products and samples I saw at the analyst meeting yesterday are far more advanced and closer to production than one might have believed when the first samples were demonstrated last March

except they keep showing up in the "4+ year" list. Not necessarily in the "pre-revenue" department, but doesn't 4+ years relate to profitability? That sounds like too long an incubation to even anticipate counting the hatch.

Relistening to Sanjay this morning, I got the impression that he held up their reference design board for their new MDM chipset. I was just wondering if you caught how many chips were on the board. I was expecting 4, the MDM, an radio transceiver chip, a power management chip and some form of memory. Would that concur with whatever you may have saw on Thursday. Thanx
