Here is a nice, but old, market survey done by industrial laser solutions. It contains some nice information on the industrial laser market. The 2007 summary and 2008 projection will come out in January.

Laser focus world contains a more general laser market survey (which includes the data from industrial laser solutions) but also includes some other categories where IPG plays. Again this is from the beginning of the year, next years version will be out in a couple months.

seems that the increase in shares was related to the acquisition of HM Laser (China). Is this consistent with your read?
