Copper output was 358,000t in October, Mainland Marketing Research Co, which releases monthly data on behalf of China's National Bureau of Statistics, said in a faxed statement on November 15. Production gained 15% from September and 44% from October last year, Bloomberg data showed. Increased domestic supplies may lead to a plunge in overseas purchases from the world's fastest-growing major economy, Beijing Antaike Information Development Co said in October. Smelters have increased overseas purchases of raw material, both concentrate and scrap, to feed their production. The following table lists China's production of copper and other non-ferrous metals in October, and for the first 10 months of this year. Figures are in tonnes. Percentage changes are from a year earlier.
