Growing up I knew a couple of the Gart boys. We rented fishing boats to them when I was a teen. Nice guys. Every once in a while there is something in the local papers suggesting they (this would be grandsons, or even great grandsons, of the folks I knew) wanting to get back into sports. Nothing ever seems to come from it. They have to be rich enough not to need that hassle, I would think.

Their original store was in the seediest, skid row part of lower downtown Denver right after WWII. It was worth going into just for the "smell". Now that part of downtown is the "trendiest" and called LoDo by everyone.

A friend of son is one of the electricians that is wiring new Cabela's opening in (I think he said) Lacey next week. We'll stop on our way when we go to the ocean.
