(Anyway... with the largest number of unique individual contributions - after Obama - yet still far more then any other republican running, not to mention the largest number of military families contributing to his campaign out of *all* the candidates, on both sides of the aisle, I thing the evidence is already pretty strong for your second statement from above: he has lots of appealing ideas, and it would certainly attract lots of people.)

I think that appeals for smaller, less intrusive government, lower and fairer taxes, balanced budgets, free trade with all and restoring a non-interventionist foreign policy will always attract significant support from Americans....

At least, I hope so.
