He shouldn't have tried to rewrite history at all. The evidence is very clear to the point it is better to ignore it and hope it goes away...

Thanks Z for the blog. I think the last two sentences once again reveal Herbert's defenders for who they are:

As far as I know, Brooks wrote only one column on this (non-)issue, and there is nothing to suggest that he is trying to defend or divert attention away from Bush.
