I will never believe that the United States, the greatest nation in the world, can become a better nation by adopting questionable practices of lesser nations.

They are neither lesser nations nor questionable practices. You are letting your biases rule your logic.

A week ago Thursday nite, I got bit by a spider on my leg while I slept. By Friday afternoon, it was looking pretty ugly.........my leg was swollen from my knee to my ankle and the bite would not close nor would it stop draining. By Friday nite some friends were encouraging me to go to the ER. So I went. It turns there is nothing you can do for a spider bite. The doctor gave me an antibiotic and a benidryl and told me to go home. She spent all of five minutes with me. I waited 2 1/2 hours to see her.

I got the bill Sat..........$750. If you don't think there is something wrong with the healthcare system of "the greatest nation on earth", then I have some bridges to sell you.
