How many times have the Democrats played the race card? Much more often than what needs to be mentioned here. Why should Z and Bob Herbert complain about the GOP "race-bating" back in the 80's? I don't know......you need to ask them. My feeling is that the GOP of the 1980s is not all that different from the GOP that exists now......they've just become more polically correct. And it also speaks to the alleged greatness of R. Reagan. How can he be such a great president when he was encouraging southerners to ignore federal law regarding the races? After all, Reagan wasn't president 150 years ago but rather in the 1980s when racial discrimination was considered inappropriate behavior.
