Huh? Without spending, you don't have an economy.

Period.

Focus on investing as the primary engine is what drove the 1920s.

And that turned out splendidly well...

Please quit being so stupid....spending is not the only source of economic activity. Unless that "rich dude" stuffs that fifty cents into a mattress, he will invest it and that will create more economic activity than the other fifty cents he spent. Yes, spending is good for the economy but investing is better.

I'd rather see the money go directly into the economy rather than waiting til the dude puts his money into a CD and then waiting for the bank to invest that money in bonds which some day mighting end up paying for some infrastructure improvement. The level of econ. activity that you are promoting would make most people fall asleep.
