I guess in a post-Columbine age, you can't take anything as an idle threat.

But we are still a society of laws. Six black kids go and beat up a white kid because of a hateful thing the white kid did. One of the attackers has four convictions already, and he's not even 20. And those black kids are glorified for what they've done? What kind of message does that send to everyone of every race and every disposition?

All I see is six kids ganging up to attack another. Many reasons for that. Race, girlfrieds, popularity, MySpace, etc. Why should race be any more of a mitigating factor than the others?

Do you really not understand the significance of the noose?

He has a very facile way of approaching subjects like this one.
