Even the French weenies recognized that they needed nuclear power and have done so quite successfully. Our environmental policy has been determined by fringe wacko's and the courts. We have no sane policy because of this. It's why our deep water drillers, the best and safest in the world will sit and watch the Chinese and Cubans drill our oil off the coast of FL. Of course that would make little difference since we have to out source the refining because of the same loons.

My concern with nuclear energy is twofold

A) The waste

B) The potential for a problem. Yeah - 3 mile island is one of the only issues we've had BUT on the outside chance that something goes wrong the mess is a serious issue
