I know you hate the idea, but Clinton was a fiscally savvy president.

What you really should say here in all honesty is, that as far as you could observe, political sawyness happened in coincidence with the presidency of Bill Clinton.

Which may not be exactly the same thing.

A quick search through Google came up with this from John McCain (R):

As for links showing that the GOP wants to "kill" SS, the only ones I could find were those from left-wing propaganda sites.
