He was one of our greatest Presidents. He saved American in the War of 1812 when the Northeast wanted to surrender to protect their mercantile interest (sound familiar). If he hadn't won the Battle of New Orleans, there'd be no United States.

He's been ignored of late because he was the great Indian fighter and that's no longer acceptable by the left. The left used to laud him because he was the first president to represent the true popular will of the people, and their will was that the frontier be opened up, and freed of the depredations of the Indians.

People were routinely conquered in the past by all cultures. Human rights is a relatively new concept.
