I've been trying to ignore the fact that you and Z think I'm ignorant with regard to race, but I guess I'll have to strike back. The hanging of black people way back in those days is a horrible, horrible thing. It amazed me to see white people just milling around as if they were at a tea party, not minding the gruesomeness of someone, anyone being strung up on a tree. Even the notion that those black victims weren't considered human is hypocritical, since I doubt many of those white people would have treated their own pets the same way. Now here's the thing. Some white kid today, probably a loser, hangs a noose in a tree. What the hell does he know about the evil that revolves around it? What the hell does he know about the overwhelming bad karma that he just brought upon himself? What the hell does he know about anything anyway? He wants attention, he wants to piss off people, and he got it. Then he gets beaten up by six black kids, one with a criminal record, and now he's seen as a "martyr" by the racists who now consider that action "proof" that black people are just no good. You want to prove the racists wrong? Start helping the black people help themselves. Educate them. Nothing scares the racist more than an educated black person. Get tough on gangs. Help black kids prepare to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, writers, entertainers, yes even politicians. But the next time you want to bring up that shocking photo to prove to me that I'M the "ignorant" one, perhaps you should reconsider before cheapening that photo into yet another one of your partisan ad hominem attacks. Because the way you continue to play the race card is sickening to me and dishonorable to Dr. MLK Jr. and everyone else involved in the civil rights movement of the 20th century. Tenchusatsu
