Is this a much much much much bigger mess than we think it is? I think we all know that this is a huge disaster from a financial standpoint. From a purely administrative standpoint, it is perhaps an even bigger mess. No one knows who has the original paper, improper fees are being charged, foreclosures are a pain to do because the administrative details are in chaos, etc. Bottom line, even forclosing is going to be difficult to accomplish unless local laws are very favorable. Here is a local example. laeb.uscourts.gov The debtors in that case fought the Wells Fargo insanity, but I suspect a lot of debtors don't.
