Right now our country needs our best and brightest.

Huckabee does not beleive in evolution. IMO, anyone who cannot understand a simple fact like evolution, is not up to the task of being president of the United sates.

Sam;

Jesus Christ my Saviour." The first time people actually hear talking about that, he will be gone except in the south

That is what I first thought - now I think my first impression of him was wrong. He is controversial for sure - especially his tax plan that I really like. He wants to junk the income tax and replace with a sales tax. I like to call it a consumption tax because it taxes a person according to what they buy - not what they earn. I don't think wage earnings should be penalized for earning money while investors are rewarded.

I don't know if I could ever vote for him, but I am desperate to find somebody other than Hillary I could vote for. Could it be Huckabee - maybe?

Poll: Huckabee Catches Romney in Iowa

Wednesday November 21, 2007 1:31 PM

THE RACE: The presidential race for Republicans in Iowa.

---

THE NUMBERS:

Mitt Romney, 28 percent

Mike Huckabee, 24 percent

Fred Thompson, 15 percent

Rudy Giuliani, 13 percent

John McCain, 6 percent

---

OF INTEREST:

Huckabee has surged to a virtual tie in Iowa with Romney, though he still lags well behind leader Rudy Giuliani in most national polls. In Iowa, Huckabee leads Romney by about 2-1 among evangelical voters, a pivotal group among likely caucus goers. Half of Huckabee's supporters say they are very enthusiastic about him, nearly double the fervor shown by Romney's backers.

While Huckabee gets high marks for honesty and handling social issues, his rivals score higher for experience, leadership, having the best chance to defeat the Democrat next November, and issues including Iraq, the economy and immigration.
