Bush and the GOP have ruined the US economy. And they inherited a wonderful economy ripe with surpluses, hope and plenty of balanced sustainability. Our dollar was strong, everyone was employed, we cold have done anything, but now we're sunk for a long time.

Just like after Reagan's unsustainable tax cut, borrow, cheat, steal and spend boom, GW Bush's recession will last twice as long as his juiced boom did. It may be 20 years before we pay off these Bush debts, and think of the interest money we're wasting. Plus the Iraq debacle is the most shameful and wasteful thing the US has done since Vietnam.

The only good news is that this reckless experiment proves once and for all that tax cuts for the rich and corporate deregulation are recipes for disaster. Also that wars for profit and privatizing the military are huge invitations to rip off the tax-payer and destroy our military readiness. A few people on top win, everyone else loses.
