I can't speak for all schools, but our school already does this. We're heavy in to analogies and metaphors because those are tested heavily, as are patterns on the math tests. Inner city schools suffer because they have crap teachers for the most part (many of them being uncredentialed or subs)- but best practices already require this sort of teaching- as well as teaching to all learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic).

It seems you have inadvertently switched the headers on the two columns; they should be reversed.

(Right Brains are Macs, Left Brains are PCs.)

And not to toot my own horn (groan) but nothing melds the two halves together better than the study and performance of music.

Iktomi, I actually ran a google search to make sure I got it right. Here's what came up:

Ed, I took a look at the links you offer in this post and can find no data. I find some discussion of the left/right brain argument and an hypothesis that that argument has something to do with the education achievement differences. But I don't find any data.

Did I miss something?

If there is data, any interpretation of it should involve a serious exploration of the major alternative sets of explanations which would be social structural ones.
