You did. You picked 2.0 as the IPCC midpoint estimate and divided by 5 to get 0.4.

The IPCC said 1.8-4.0. The midpoint of that range is actually 2.9 C. Thats what you s/h divided by 5 to get the 20 year estimate.

I noticed this earlier, but figured why bring it up.

As to the variance around the mean, I don't know what is. But who cares, for a bet you have to pick some point to judge whether warming is significant or not.
