"How does quoting an opinion I had that turned out to be wrong make me an ignorant buffoon???"

That isn't what does it.

It's when one is totally immersed in refusing to recognize the consequences of that wrong opinion and continuing to try and influence people to follow that same foolish path that makes one an ignorant buffoon.

In the case of Thorium, the fact that it provides an attractive side benefit in its capability to reduce nuclear waste has always been described as just that.

A fringe.

The real benefit is the safety of operation and the fact that Thorium itself is more plentiful in the Earths crust and hence a far superior, cheaper fuel than Uranium.

That and the fact that it doesn't produce a fissionable waste product provides an obvious advantage to sentient observers considering some of the current geopolitical stress points.

All of these points are perfectly obvious from reading the posts on this thread.

Perhaps the issue is merely one of inability to read with comprehension.
