European Credit Markets Deteriorate Dramatically

New emergency action to pump funds into the money markets was announced Friday night by the ECB amid renewed fears that liquidity in credit markets is again starting to dry up. In the UK, the BOE deputy governor warned money markets may see a bigger squeeze before year end. Banks were unable or unwilling to securitise any assets at all last month.
