hmm, that might explain the interest of shorts

"HOMESTORE Founder Convicted of $67 Million Fraud --- HOMESTORE founder and former chief executive Stuart Wolff has been convicted of conspiracy, insider trading, making false regulatory filings and lying to auditors in a $67 million accounting fraud case --- 10 former HOMESTORE executives have already plead guilty to related charges in the case. "

I did check the Legal Proceedings section of the most recent 10Q, and it gave no hint of scandals in the past, and it said only this:
"We believe that there are no claims or actions pending or threatened against us, the ultimate disposition of which would have a material adverse effect on us."

Different management now, maybe, but just as well to pass on this one, despite the cash on the balance sheet.
