Right now it looks like Mitt Romney (who is an empty elitist suit if I ever saw one) is going to get nominated with Mike Huckabee turning it on to maybe become the VP. That ticket will go down in flames, though Huckabee is an admirable man (though I disagree with his social views on womens rights, etc.) Guiliani is a car wreck just waiting to happen. Anyone with a few million in negative ad money could finish him off quickly. And their negative ads won't even have to be total lies and slander like Bush's were against Kerry. They can just tell the truth about the real Rudy. Just put up the video of Rudy in drag kissing Donald Trump, then details about his mob connections, failures on 9-11, lobbying for Hugo Chavez, living with a gay man and marrying his own cousin and it's all over. Italians may still vote for him but that's about it. McCain is also finished. His "the surge works" mantra sounds good at first until you look at the facts or listen to General Sanchez (who knows better than anyone), and you remember that McCain's trips to Iraq were accompanied by hundreds of troops and helicopters protecting him as he walked through a Baghdad market and proclaimed that life had returned to normal. Plus the fact the GOP has no issues, New today, the upper midwest is dying for illegal immigrant labor. There is no one to harvest the crops. That plays against the racisism and alarmism of the right as they try to event an issue to camouflage Bush's tremendous failures and betrayals. The fundamental truth about Iraq is that it's a total broken mess we can't afford to hold together and our military is completely exhausted, not gung ho as McCain and Bushies claim. 20,000 brain injuries they weren't even telling us about? That's 15% of the force. And what else have they been lying about? Where has all the money gone? The problem is gross corruption and fraud plus no success at diplomacy in 6 years and the fact that we may have to divide the country into three now, creating who knows what kind of dangerous dynamics? Plus most Iraqis hate us and think it's OK to kill our troops and the Shia majority are allied with Iran. And all for Bush-Cheney's lust for oil, all of it. Nothing to do with fighting terrorism. That was all a big fat lie. They have helped terrorists. Plus the price has gasoline has tripled under Bush and he lied in 2000 saying he would lower it.
