The GOP congress under Delay was our biggest wasteful spending congress in US history, and our most corrupt. If you really believe all spending is bad, then attack Bush and the Delay GOP congress. They are the biggest deficit spenders ever, and for the most corrupt and selfish reasons.

Conservative used to mean patriotic in terms of paying your taxes. No more. Now is means un-conservative, selfish, greedy, irresponsible and non law-abiding. If the GOP wants to support our troops, why don't they want anyone to pay taxes to pay for them? When I was growing up anyone who tried to cheat on his taxes or avoid them was considered something of a traitor. But the super-rich old money conservatives of the tax hawk movement (and other greedy guys) infected the GOP (and society) with this new belief that all taxes are bad and all spending is bad. Nonsense. Taxes are how we pay our bills and so long as we don't have a corrupt government stealing that money, that's a good thing. Also, spending on social programs which are efficiently run saves HUGE amounts of money, trillions. Just look at how many trillions are being ripped off and wasted during the Bush years by corporate privatizing of formerly public sectors, like Halliburton moving in on our military and charging us $150,000 a year for a truckdriver or kitchen worker.
