I'm so glad you're feeling better. Good luck with your recovery. You certainly sound positive.

My mom survived several cancers. I'm sure you know people like that, but if you ever want to chat about her various recoveries pm me. I couldn't believe how many she got, and how many she survived (and she didn't die of cancer, either).

KR,
I am trying to decide how to react to your post. It sounds as if you are doing very well to be off the pain meds already, and the surgery itself went well, but it has to be very disturbing to get any kind of suspected malignancy report.

I don't know exactly how old you are. Much younger than some of us, I think, so you probably haven't started the mandatory colonoscopies, etc. Was there something that made him thing colon?

I just realized today is Friday, so you have the report. If you are comfortable talking about it, do let us know. We are all certainly hoping to hear good news. DAR was always kind of a nice handdholding place..
well, kind of.
ALthough people were given to having those awful buzzer things hidden in the palms of said hands, and when you sat down, it was on those disgusting whoopee cushions that I bet Freddie has on every chair in his house.
Sal the Mule was probably the most sympathetic person here, and Drygulch traded her in for a yacht. Which tells you the kind of person we have here.
I promise I won't let them run any ads for a new tenant with intact colon.

Wow, KR! Please ask your dr. to send path samples to NIH ASAP. They have very good diagnosticians.

I am rooting for you. Will bump you up on my prayer list.

Hey everybody!!

First an apology. Silence is NOT a good sign in these times so its probably been bad of me to not update my SI world. Sorry.

I've been anxious to post for several weeks now as I want to make the perfect post about my last 6(7) months of dealing with cancer.

I've spent about 60 days in the last 6 months in an ICU unit @ MD Anderson in Houston, TX.

High-Dose interleukin-2 therapy.

Basically they give me doses until vitals in 1 area ( heart/lung/kidney etc) get too "low" and they wait to give you another dose. I've had althogthor 43 doses in the following series of "weekly" stays: 9 8 6 6 8 6

I've also not let it get in the way of my life. I think i am actually obligated to increase my effectiveness and thouroughness of what fathering skills i use - and at the same time still be myself.

Other than the multitude of trips to Houston:
I've gone to chicago twice - once just for Pizza and show
Gone to NYC - Times square, upper west side (Columbia)
Been diamond hunting in Murphreesboro, AR
Still manage to bill ~ 50% of my work hours.
Develop ~ 2000 lines of code
Started a tropical fish tank
bought 3 computers ( kids...)
bought 2 iphones ( trying to buy 3 more for birthdays in Aug)
won annual Father of Year award @ church
boating @ Lake Conroe, TX

So the treatment seems to be working and everything is going in the right direction. I'm not out of the woods but the fat lady is NOT singing at the moment. I will know more after my next set of "scans" in mid-August.

One of the worst feelings is when I go to church and the people treat you as if you are at your own wake. Its really depressing. Keep this in mind if you reply to this very bizzar post.
