"Lott Retiring From U.S. Senate"

Lott knows that if he retires THIS year, before January he can become a high-paid lobbyist a year from his retirement. If he waits until AFTER January, the new (D) Senate rules prevent him from becoming a lobbyist until TWO years from the date of his retirement.

Very Republican of him.
