I dont know that my plan had special committment to israel as part of it. I think US committment is both to an independent israel as now exists and a new pal state whose fragile institutions must be supported. US needs to be fair and balance and this will be the case when both terrorism and occupation are ended in the area. What i cant figure out is what motivates hamas, hizbolla who are first and foremost islamist radicals to agree to talk. How does one control iran? The comparison with ireland leads me to believe that we still may be many years from that.
