Clinton did nothing. The economy healed itself.

The economy back then benefited from at least three large positive factors during Clinton's term in office.

First, the tech boom of the 90's drove wealth to new heights.

Second, energy was cheap and abundant.

Third, Congress (and taxes and spending) was in the hands of the GOP (who back then had at least a semblance of fiscal sanity, unlike the spendaholic dimbulbs they became in this decade before being deservedly thrown out).

Clinton was lucky in being in the right place at the right time. If Jo Mama had been President back then, the resulting strong economy would have been pretty much the same.

The best that can be hoped for in the next election is the sort of mixed government that cancels each other out and does the least amount of damage...
