If Regan was racist he did an outstanding job of keeping it a secret. As for using race, no that isn't something he did to any great degree. Certainly not as much as the liberals who like playing the race card and try to convince minorities that Republicans are a bunch of racists. His use of race when it was to his advantage is no secret. Like I've said before, I don't know if Reagan was a racist.....only he knows for sure. What I do know is he used it to gain white support when he could: "After taking office in 1981, Reagan began a sustained attack on the government's civil rights apparatus, opened an assault on affirmative action and social welfare programs, embraced the White racist leaders of then-apartheid South Africa and waged war on the tiny, Black Caribbean nation of Grenada.
