" He suggested 'personal drive, honesty, honor, integrity' as dominant qualities in those 'people who took every opportunity to make a buck for themselves.' You must be a black hater to suggest this country was not, at least in part, built with sweat and blood of many generations of people descended from Africa..."

You should be ashamed of yourself for making such a racist comment. To indicate that blacks and indians don't have "personal drive, honesty, honor, integrity" is offensive to me. You immediately assumed that Peter was talking about whites, when in fact he was talking about people in general.

Your racism is showing through when you exclude those people from Peter's comments.

The Injun (white man is the original native american, look up Kennewick man) treatment of the original native American was not very good. They lacked honesty, honor and integrity. Also the injun was big on slavery and torture.

Sitting Bull said he didn't blame the original native american, he said he wanted to wipe them out also. Just like the Lakota wiped out many, many other tribes.

I was referring not to blacks but to the economics of slavery. You don't get good production out of slaves, the same as you don't with people living in a socialistic state. Both are dead end economies.

PS. look up Clovis People and esp. check out their stone spear and arrow heads. My My European.

"You must be a black hater to suggest this country was not, at least in part, built with sweat and blood of many generations of people descended from Africa."

You must be Europhobe to deny that the majority of what made America great in the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries was the blood sweat and tears of European descended settlers. I don't have to hate anyone to not inflate their contribution. For whatever reason the culture of African Americans needed to break out of a closed society to release the innate greatness contained within the individuals. Today more descendents of African heritage seem to be making their mark on the economy than ever before.

It has been true throughout history that insolated civilizations stagnate and through trade and civilized exchange others have thrived.

I read a while back about a man who insisted that in every telephone job interview the applicant must be made to use the word ask. The story was written in such a way that I believed he used it to discriminate against a certain group. IS there something malformed in the mouth of African Americans that causes them to mispronounce it or do they choose to maintain a subculture that enables others to discriminate by simple methods?

"Peter's simplistic and naive view of how America came to be what it is today."

If you want a dissertation, I could accommodate you. I doubt you would be able to read it because it would cause you too much pain to face the reality of the compounded individual accomplishments and individual responsibility and the importance they had in America's success.

honesty, honor, integrity" reveals Peter's shallow reading of history.

Sorry I disagree with you that Clinton was a high water mark of historical accomplishment. Clinton was a low water mark of political expediency by those without character. History is filled with people who seemed to get ahead at the expense of honesty, honor and integrity; but that is an illusion. Ultimately men and women of honor most often overcame the scumbags in the long run.
