Yes, Obama could beat anyone on the GOP side. The GOP would of course play the race card and try and stir up latent racism as they did against Harold Ford. But Obama isn't Ford and is a sublime campaigner with charisma coming out his ears. No one else in either party comes close. He doesn't date white women either, which is what they used against Ford, true or not. He is half white himself. And he would be damn good for the country in all sorts of ways. But if the GOP uses the race card it may backfire on them and cost them Florida and the southwest. Hispanics won't take kindly to GOP race-baiting either of course. Nor will immigrants or moderates. And you can make fun of Oprah all you want but she is probably the most influential person in America in terms of swinging votes, and she has never used it.

Let's see who wins Iowa in both parties. Whoever does, will probably be the nominee. Right now it is a toss up. Huckabee and Edwards might even win. Don't underestimate Huckabee. He could win. So could Edwards. Edwards after all deserves to be VP right now and heir to the presidency. And ROn Paul's message represents a large portion of the unhappy GOP, as does Huckabee. They hate this sorry excuse for a war and all Bush's lies too. They also hate the corruption and immorality of the Bush GOP.
