Is there a model that can predict rainfall next August in the Houston area?

I have no idea. You are talking about advanced rocketry science while I am questioning whether you have enough firing synapses in your brain to do a basic risk assessment.

In 1997 the sceptics were in denial. It's now at the end of 2007, the predictions and evidence have become ever more conclusive we are seeing a warming trend. The sceptics are still in denial.

The flowers in Europe are flowering now over a month earlier then has been recorded over the last 100 years. Undeniable documented evidence.

The fish are moving northwards as the oceans warm.

We have the two graphs shown in these links...

en.wikipedia.org

If you don't conclude we have a trend of increasing average temperature from these graphs and undeniable recorded facts, I really can't help you. You are unable to perform the very basic of risk assessments.

Nothing else can be said.

The Earth will probably evolve us out of the system a la a planet wide "Darwin Award" because we are collectively too stupid to exist.

Maybe we are going to enter a new Ice Age, and average temperatures will plummet, or even remain normal. I hope so and will be ready for such an event. It would mean we were just plumb lucky once again, because that is not what is scheduled at the moment.
