We agree on that. But that is no reason not to try.

Trying is not free, Michael. Trying costs dozens or hundreds of lives, both Israeli and Palestinian, as Hamas (the "extreme" terrorists) and Fatah (the "moderate" terrorists) et. al. move to blow up any chance of positive movement. Therefore I am not for trying unless I see some actual opening, some reason to hope.
